We set an appointment with our venue and floral decorator, Ate Ruby Diolanda, at The Orchidarium so that we can discuss with Barbara’s (our caterer) regarding the decorations, seating arrangement, parking, lights and sound systems and so many other things. (Vinz’s) sister Jayvee (who is actually one of the bridesmaids) tagged along too!
When we arrived at The Orchidarium, we were disappointed at first glance to see that there was an ongoing wedding reception that moment. Normally, the venue personnel do not allow visitors to the garden when there is an event going on (especially weddings!) but we just asked if we could go in because we just needed to meet with our caterer. To our delight, they agreed agad.
It was our first time to see a wedding at The Orchidarium so we watched intently on how the reception was going on. We looked worried that it looked too simple. We noticed though that there wasn’t much decorations so that made me pretty optimistic that ours would look better especially that we brought Ate Ruby along so (Cel) could tell her what she wants with the decorations. (Cel) is always very enthusiastic when we talk about how we want the venue decorated. While (Cel) was discussing with the decorator and the caterer, (Vinz) talked to our decorator’s husband about wedding coordination and putting up potential wedding-related businesses.
Our meeting with the caterer lasted till around 8pm and we saw the ongoing reception wind to a close. We asked the technical personnel of the garden to turn on all the lights so we can see if we would be having sufficient lighting during our wedding.
We pretty much had a fruitful evening. Still, there’s a lot of things to do.

hi!
I’m planning to held my christian wedding also at The Orchidarium early next year. Since your wedding will happen on May, please kindly send me your feedbacks about the venue and your caterer after the event. Surely it will help me a lot lessen all the headaches about preparations, you know…
Thanks and enjoy your preps.
Grace
